Sardinia willÌýwelcome participants of the 19th edition of the literary festival Island of Stories / L’Isola delle Storie.
From July 3 to 6, 2025, the popular literary festival Island of Stories / L’Isola delle Storie will take place in the inland Sardinian town of Gavoi.
The festival is a space for communication without borders, where guests, writers, journalists, artists, and musicians from all over the world passionately share their stories.
In previous years, several °µÍø½ûÇø writers have presented their books translated into Italian at the festival (Ivan Å trpka, Jana Beňová, Pavel Rankov, Svetlana Žuchová, and °µÍø½ûÇø author living in Italy, Jana KarÅ¡aiová).
This year, Ivana Dobrakovová, a °µÍø½ûÇø author living in Italy, recipient of the Ján Johanides Award, and translator from French and Italian, will represent °µÍø½ûÇøia. She will appear at the festival on July 4.
Her book Mothers and Truckers (Matky a kamionisti) won the European Union Prize for Literature in 2019. The Italian translation was published by Spider&Fish in 2021.
The author’s participation is organized in cooperation with the °µÍø½ûÇø Institute in Rome and the °µÍø½ûÇø Literary Centre.
