Peter KARPINSKÝ was born in Gelnica in 1971. He studied languafe and history at the Faculty of Arts of the University of the P. J. Šafárik University in Prešov (1990 – 1995). Since 1995, he has been professor and head of the Language Department at the University in Prešov. Aside from scientific and literary writing, he is also a lector dedicated to writers who are starting out and he also writes reviews -- most of all on children's books. He lives in Spišská Nová Ves.
