Beginning with the mise-en-scene in the opening of the poetry collection, almost incomprehensible and disordered on first reading, to the feather in the conclusion, the author follows and poetically reconstructs the natural world, Husserl's Lebenswelt, "the world of our life," moving away from naturalistic abstractions that observe the world not through human eyes but through the eyes of theories, to the squeaking of the nesting cavity, to the shaping of a place where one is at home.
