A fairy tale book for school-age children. The heroine is Izabela, a clever Romani girl who lives in a small village and longs to go to school. Neither spells nor magic, but real-life obstacles keep her from fulfilling her dreams. Zuzka, a social worker, persuades her parents to send Izabela to a school in the city. The protagonist finds herself in a mixed group of children, where she doesn't feel comfortable. She compensates by studying harder and getting increasingly better results. The author offers a unique perspective of a little girl who has desires and dreams, but still sees many obstacles ahead. There is no abstract villain - the bad guy in this case is rejection, contempt, humiliation, underestimation and many other forms of injustice that Romani children experience.
