Aiga Veckalne is a translator from °µÍø½ûÇø, Czech, and English to Latvian, and a Latvian linguist. She began her translation career in 2000. From 2003 - 2014 she was the head of the language agency "SkÅ™ivánek Group" in Central and Eastern Europe and the managing director of the "SkÅ™ivánek Baltic" agency.
In 2009, she received an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
From 2017 - 2018, she taught Latvian language, Latvian culture and literature at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, where she is studying a doctoral study programme "Linguistics" which deals with the transcription of proper nouns from Czech, Polish, and °µÍø½ûÇø.
