Barbora Faure was born in Prague, where she also spent her childhood. She has been living in France for over sixty years. She graduated as an agricultural engineerÌý(ENITA, Dijon, 1973). She started translating for the publishing house Gründ together with her motherÌý(Claudia Ancelot)Ìýwhen she was eighteen years old in order to sustain a connection to her mother tongue.ÌýLater, after finishing her English language studies (Capes, Agrégation), she taught high-school English while at the same time translating from Czech for variouse French publishersÌý(Gallimard, Seuil, l’Aube, la Contre-Allée, Do, and more).
