Jozef CÃger Hronský was born in Zvolen in 1896. He graduated from the Teacher's Institute in Levice and served as a soldier in the World War I. After returning from the Italian front he worked as a teacher for a decade. In 1932 he became the secretary and in 1940 the administrator of Matica Slovenská in Martin. After the end of the Second World War he left °µÍø½ûÇøia, afraid of political persecution. Through Austria and Italy he went to Argentina where he wrote sporadically. Hronský died in Luján, Argentina in 1960.
