Curriculum vitae

Stefanie Bose(*1983) lives in Leipzig and works as a translator and a linguistic and cultural mediator for and Czech (into German). After finishing high school, she took part in the European Voluntary Service (2004/5) in eastern ia. She then studied West Slavic Studies, specializing in /Czech, and Ethnology at the University of Leipzig. From 2015 to 2024, she worked for the Honorary Consul of the Republic based in Leipzig.

She collaborates on various cultural projects and has been actively involved for many years in the partnership between the cities of Leipzig and Brno. She interprets, hosts, and organizes events. She translates both general and specialized texts in the fields of history, literature, and tourism, as well as contemporary prose and poetry.

For her translation from Czech (an excerpt from Anna Háblová’s novelěԲ), she received an award in the 2023 Susanna Roth Translation Competition.

Since 2024, she has been working freelance. Most recently, she has also been exploringaudiodescription—the translation of visual “language” into audible “language.”
